Next Acoustics NextTape™ Adhesive Tabs – The easiest way to mount your NextFoam!

You’ve figured out what you need – acoustically – to get your room sounding the way you want. So now it’s down to execution. You’ve got your shopping list of Next Acoustics products ready to check out. But you ask yourself…”How do I hang this stuff?”

Great question!

We’re always ready to give you alternative mounting methods (see the section on installation tips in our Frequently Asked Questions section for more…), but we also do offer you options to mount your NextFoam quickly and easily. You can always use our industry-leading 3M FoamFast to hang your treatment, it’s a great solution that will hold your product up as long as you need it to.

But we think you might want to try our all-new NextTape. These awesome adhesive tabs are made for us by 3M and they flat out work. You’ll get 24 1” x 2” double stick tabs with two liners for protection. Just peel the first liner, apply the tab to your NextFoam panel, then peel the second liner and mount your treatment!

Quick…Easy…Gets the job done!

Applications:
• Can be used with any NextFoam product.

 • To make your pack of 24 tabs go further, it's best to cut the 1" x 2" tabs into 1" x 1" pieces.  That way you get twice the attachment points on that backs of your NextFoam panels.
• Peel initial liner and apply to NextFoam product nexttape-6-.jpg

• Peel second liner and mount the foam. nexttape-1-.jpg nexttape-2-.jpg

Initially it is suggested that you lightly apply pressure to the panel. That way, if some readjustment is necessary, the adhesive tabs will still be removable. When you’ve established the desired mounting position, press firmly on the tab areas of the NextFoampanel to aid in adhesion. NextTape will provide 75% finish adhesion at that point. Within 24 hours, they will be fully stuck to desired surface.

  1. Top Quality! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Jun 2017

NEXTTAPE ADHESIVE TABS are by far the best adhesive tabs I've used.

I use it on my acoustic foam for sound proofing my home recording studio. Works perfect!

    Thanks,

    Sedrick

  2. 3M + A little DIY 4 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Feb 2017

These are so cheap that I really can't complain about the quantity vs the pricing. I needed a good option to counter the T-pins on the ceiling because they were sagging. I got a pin board and put the foam on the board with T-pins. If you don't like the silver color of the pins on your foam then color exposed parts (the hammer end) with a Sharpie and you will not notice it. I pinned the foam to the board and stuck some of the 3M tape on the back side then put it on the ceiling. I'd recommend also marking the spots where you want to place the board beforehand because any re-dos loses the stickiness of the tape, causing you to start over from scratch.

It's worked thus far - Just a little more DIY than I would have liked to do. Still have mad respect for the other products on this site though!

  3. Love NEXT acoustics...hate 3m nexttape 2 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Oct 2016

In short...tape is junk...any wall that is an outer wall where there is a slight temp change the tape loses grip on panels...and remains on walls...I used double then triple the amount on the panels that were on the floor each morning (again, outer wall)...it does not matter how much tape I used...For example. On a light 2 inch thick 1x2 soundtrax I,at one point, used 6 pieces...still falls off after holding it on with pressure to ensure adhesion...A few hours go by...on the floor. Tape does not work AT ALL for larger heavier pieces such as the Vtrax 2ft x 4 ft...although works great on bass traps...no issues with those. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because I LOVE the idea of the tape and installation is quick and the pieces are the perfect size...if they worked 100%.

  5. Almost 5 Stars 4 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Mar 2015

This product is probably as good as it gets for it's design. It's not good for heavy pieces of foam or ceiling mounts. It's difficult to remove the brown backing. I use the sharp end of a dry wall nail, starting at the corner, after I've attached the white side to the foam. Leaving the tab on the foam for up to 24 hours helps the tab stay connected to the foam. The older the Tabs before using, makes it more difficult. Good Luck

    Works as advertised

  7. Ape tape 4 Star Review

Works well. If you have purchased GearWedge Max foam you can't cut it into 1"x1" sections. Gotta leave it 2"x1" but so what. Let it adhear to the foam overnight then stick it to the wall the next day. It'll pull the paint off if you have to remove it ;)
    Love it

  8. Ape Tape 4 Star Review

A little tricky to use successfully, but once you stumble upon the right technique, it works very very well...

(RT: grab UR & UL corners of the brown paper backing w/left & right fingers, and tug simultaneously, gently but smartly; one or the other corner will separate 9/10 times).

  9. Underwhelmed 2 Star Review

Posted by on 13th May 2013

I don't recommend this product for permanent installations. It just doesn't stick consistently well when used as directed. I used them on a clean fresh surface. Larger pieces are needed and the cost is prohibitive. I bought two boxes of foam and about a third of them came loose in a very short time and had to be glued, especially the ceiling pieces. They didn't even make it over night. I think 3M has a fine line of products and I'd consider using this particular product again for a different purpose, but not for hanging acoustic foam.

  10. Not the right product for us 3 Star Review

Posted by on 8th May 2013

We have large, but light foam panels to install on the walls in a small conference room with vaulted ceilings. The tape worked on two of the panels, but did not work on the other two. I think I'm going to try adhesive velcro strips and see how that holds up.
