NextFoam ApeTape™ Adhesive Tabs – The easiest way to mount your NextFoam!

You’ve figured out what you need – acoustically – to get your room sounding the way you want. So now it’s down to execution. You’ve got your shopping list of Next Acoustics products ready to check out. But you ask yourself…”How do I hang this stuff?”

Great question!

We’re always ready to give you alternative mounting methods (see the section on installation tips in our Frequently Asked Questions section for more…), but we also do offer you options to mount your NextFoam quickly and easily. You can always use our industry-leading 3M FoamFast to hang your treatment, it’s a great solution that will hold your product up as long as you need it to.

But we think you might want to try our all-new ApeTape. These awesome adhesive tabs are made for us by 3M and they flat out work. You’ll get 24 1” x 2” double stick tabs with two liners for protection. Just peel the first liner, apply the tab to your NextFoam panel, then peel the second liner and mount your treatment!

Quick…Easy…Gets the job done!

Applications:
• Can be used with any NextFoam product.
 • To make your pack of 24 tabs go further, it's best to cut the 1" x 2" tabs into 1" x 1" pieces.  That way you get twice the attachment points on that backs of your NextFoam panels.
• Peel initial liner and apply to NextFoam product nexttape-6-.jpg

• Peel second liner and mount the foam. nexttape-1-.jpg nexttape-2-.jpg
Initially it is suggested that you lightly apply pressure to the panel. That way, if some readjustment is necessary, the adhesive tabs will still be removable. When you’ve established the desired mounting position, press firmly on the tab areas of the NextFoampanel to aid in adhesion. ApeTape will provide 75% finish adhesion at that point. Within 24 hours, they will be fully stuck to desired surface.

  1. Underwhelmed

Posted by Randall Mauger on 13th May 2013

I don't recommend this product for permanent installations. It just doesn't stick consistently well when used as directed. I used them on a clean fresh surface. Larger pieces are needed and the cost is prohibitive. I bought two boxes of foam and about a third of them came loose in a very short time and had to be glued, especially the ceiling pieces. They didn't even make it over night. I think 3M has a fine line of products and I'd consider using this particular product again for a different purpose, but not for hanging acoustic foam.

  2. Not the right product for us

Posted by Unknown on 8th May 2013

We have large, but light foam panels to install on the walls in a small conference room with vaulted ceilings. The tape worked on two of the panels, but did not work on the other two. I think I'm going to try adhesive velcro strips and see how that holds up.

  3. Ape Tape rocks!

Posted by Unknown on 19th Mar 2013

I have been using ape tape all over the studio with corner blocks and Bevel Blocks. It is a great way to mount the foam panels without using spray adhesive or glue tubes. So far so good!

  4. Not great on cardboard

Posted by Jim on 28th Jan 2013

The tabs are too thin. They don't hold well to cardboard. Many of my 16x24" panels are comming off. They stick just fine but then a day or two later, they start falling off. I think the cardboard is not helpling.
