I don't recommend this product for permanent installations. It just doesn't stick consistently well when used as directed. I used them on a clean fresh surface. Larger pieces are needed and the cost is prohibitive. I bought two boxes of foam and about a third of them came loose in a very short time and had to be glued, especially the ceiling pieces. They didn't even make it over night. I think 3M has a fine line of products and I'd consider using this particular product again for a different purpose, but not for hanging acoustic foam.

We have large, but light foam panels to install on the walls in a small conference room with vaulted ceilings. The tape worked on two of the panels, but did not work on the other two. I think I'm going to try adhesive velcro strips and see how that holds up.

I have been using ape tape all over the studio with corner blocks and Bevel Blocks. It is a great way to mount the foam panels without using spray adhesive or glue tubes. So far so good!

The tabs are too thin. They don't hold well to cardboard. Many of my 16x24" panels are comming off. They stick just fine but then a day or two later, they start falling off. I think the cardboard is not helpling.
